Reflection on Final Informative Report
My Reflection
Writing this informative report had its positive and negative parts. Although I enjoyed writing
about the topic of Down syndrome I faced challenges when looking for the sources such as the
journals that had to deal with what I was writing. After I did find journals, I then faced challenges on
incorporating the source into my writing. I wasn't are if I had included if explanation of the journals
and than if I had analyzed it correctly. Another issue I faced was keeping an objective stance
throughout my writing. An objective stance was meant to keep a neutral tone, so that all the sides of
the issue are present. There were times when I wanted to take an argumentative stance to argue that it
was unfair how some children with Down syndrome were treated.
One of the positive points in my informative report was my organization of the report. I wanted to
organize my report in a logical way, so that the audience could follow my explanation. Another
strong point in my writing is that I included ethos, logos, and pathos. I incorporated ethos by using
three credible scholarly journals, that contained convincing evidence. Logos was included by by
starting my report with background information going into the biological aspects of Down syndrome
and ending with its effects. Finally, I used pathos by trying to include an example of a life of person
dealing with down syndrome and trying to get the audience to feel the person’s struggle.
