Reflection to Interview
My Reflection
The interview was a new experience for me because I never before interviewed an expert, for a
paper I was writing. The interview was a success because I was able to find out new information on
my topic of how HIV/AIDS has impacted mankind. I decided to interview a teacher that I knew had
been affected by the disease and allow her to tell me her story. Later on I decided that I would use
the response in my research as part of the section of how HIV/AIDS affects a person. This interview
will also serve as an appeal to pathos because it is an emotional take on a person’s hardship of
dealing with the disease.
Although this interview consisted mostly about a person’s life, I still gained a lot of insight
on how HIV/AIDS really can be described as the deadliest epidemic. The story of my interviewer is
not rare, but common, even to this day of many who are going through the same struggles. Also,
conducting this interview has driven me to be more aware of how an urgent need for a cure needs to
exist. I do not want other kids like my teacher to go through the same issues at such a young age. All
in all, this interview will be very helpful and give my audience a more in depth feel of how
HIV/AIDS can affect someone, when I include it in my research paper.
