Final Reflection
Final Thoughts
I titled my blog “Road to Enlightenment” because it shows how at the start of the semester my writing lacked many concepts, but as the semester passed, I started to include more course learning objectives. My lack of clear writing concepts is visible in the first writing assignment I wrote, the memorandum. Besides the memorandum having a lot of grammar mistakes, it also did not contain a strong stance or a clear analysis. In the next assignment, the Informative report, I made a little progress. This time I wrote a thesis that was clear and provided a lot of sources. This assignment required research, so I used the online database such as JSTOR and incorporated articles I found online into my writing.
Writing the Argumentative report also proved vital to my progress as a writer. In this paper, I set a goal to make the audience understand my point and also established the kind of audience I was targeting. Besides this, it was in this writing assignment that peer-reviews helped me the most. The peer-reviews allowed me to see that I had to make my report more organized and synthesize more. I believe that in the Final research paper, that is where I incorporated the most course learning objectives. In this paper, I first created an outline of what I was going to write about than I wrote two drafts, that were each peer-reviewed by classmates. The final paper includes various sources such as journals, news articles, government papers, surveys, and images. Also, in each paragraph, I synthesized two sources by comparing them or stating how they were different in my counterclaim. The blog allowed me to see my growth as a writer and provide me with evidence that I can write in the sciences.
