How to Achieve Happiness
The article “13 Things That Will Make You Much Happier” provides thirteen things a person can
do in order to live a happier life. The author Dr. Travis Bradberry also provides reasons for a person
not being able to be happy and I agree with his points. The two points I agree with the most is when
a person gives into fear and being able to live in the present. First, I believe that fear is a person’s
biggest enemy because it prevents us from being able to give our full potential. For example, some
people can have a fear of talking in front of an audience and for this reason they don’t participate.
This fear prohibits the person from sharing their ideas that can actually be very insightful. I agree
with Dr. Travis Bradberry that once we conquer our fear, we will feel happiness because we will be
filled with the satisfaction of being able to do anything. Life is about taking risks and not hiding
under a shadow. Secondly, I also feel the most important thing you can do to be happy is to live in
the present. We need to “accept our past” by learning from both our triumphs and mistakes. Also
what I can relate with this is that I worry too much about the future and it tends to stress me out. By
reading this article I have learned to not be so hard on myself and the future will unveil itself as the
time comes.
I believe that any professional should strive to maintain a positive, optimistic attitude because
that attitude is what is going to allow you to do a great job. A professional should be full of
satisfaction and pride doing their job. If we dread going to work, we will not accomplish anything,
and instead waste time. This is why you should choose the job you enjoy and not let others influence
you because at the end it will be you doing the work not them.
